This Time

My hands were shaking, I know they shouldn't be. I have memorized every note so well that I could play this song blind folded. I'm nervous because I'm afraid she might not be there to see my performance. It's been one week since we broke up and we haven't exchanged a single word. I'm the one who blew up the house that love built, with a stupid mistake of a kiss I gave an ex. I told her what I did because not only did she deserve at least that but for having put up with me and all the bullshit that comes with being with me.
Tempers flared, she lost it emotionally and physically. She punched me right in the face but I don't think the physical abuse I endured could compare to the two words that ripped by heart from its seams.
'It's Over' were last two words she said as she slammed the door on my face and I walked home that night in the rain. I was lucky, as the rain hid my tears all to well.  
I tried texting, calling, e-mailing, hell I must have left a thousand voicemail messages but she didn't give me an ounce of attention. I actually wanted to high jacking all radio waves and cable signals so she could hear and see how apologetic I was for what I did.
This is my one and possibly only chance, because honestly I don't have anything else I can come up with to emphasis 'Sorry' any better. Hopefully her best friend helped to convince her to come here tonight.
My name was called by the host of the evening. I walk from the back stage and took front stage. I look desperately through the crowed to hopefully catch her but I had my performance to tend too, so my 'Where's Waldo' mindset was put off.
I took my seat in front of the piano and adjusted the microphone a few inches above the keys. My heart was racing but I breathed in and out, relaxing myself. I wanted this to be the best performance from me to her. I didn't give a dame about what the crowd thought; hell if they wanted to boo and pelt me with fruits and vegetables then I would have honourably taken every hit with dignity.
"This is my apology and I hope you're here to hear this" I spoke into the microphone and then began playing.
