This Way

"Don't do this" are the first words I say to you while watching you stand at the of edge suicide.
"I can't take it anymore" is what she says as she sobs.
"You know you can" is what I tell her as I move forward in hopes of reaching her in time.
"How can I?!" she shouts back at me as I watch the face that once smiled with dimples so beautiful and skin so fair, now blemished and smeared by tearful mascara and a mouth that frowns.
"There's always a way" I tell her, to keep her talking.
"Why do you care? I'm not worth it!" she hisses at me, I can see the resentment in her eyes at the sight of me.
"Because I care about you" and I meant it and I wanted to open up to her to tell her how I truly feel but my male pride always gets the best of me.
"Don't say that, don't fucking say that, you son of bitch!" her words were like quills, shoting me down and degraded me severely, but I wasn't giving up.
"I am a son of bitch, I am dick, I'm an idiot, I am every foul word in every language known to man" just few more steps and I reach her. I catch her.
"Let me go, let me fucking go, I need to do this I need to make this pain stop" she said as she struggled in my arms, slapping me, scratching me and biting my arm, but the physical pain could couldn't even amount to an ounce of emotional and physical trauma I felt in that moment.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, forgive me, Oh God I'm so sorry" I said to her, she calmed but kept punching at my chest as I hugged her. I could feel myself begin to shake from the trauma of having almost lost her.
"Why…why…why did you do it?" she said. There was no reason for what I did. I wanted to cry and grovel before her on my knees in hopes of making her feel better but I needed to be strong right now for me as much as her. I made her this way and it was my duty no matter how long it would take to fix her.
